Gary Oldman signs up for “RoboCop” remake

by Dimitris Ioannou

Hollywood loves remakes and when their followed by a big movie star, they're guaranteed success. The classic sci-fi action film “RoboCop” is the next movie to get a new modern version, and Gary Oldman has just signed to play one of the leading roles.

Oldman will play Norton, the scientist responsible for creating “RoboCop”, alongside Joel Kinnaman, known from the US version of “The Killing”, in the role of “RoboCop”.

Kinnaman recently talked about the film and said: “I sincerely hope they’re going for an R rating, because I can’t imagine how RoboCop could be PG-13. That would be a huge mistake. If I have any say in it, I will fight very hard for it. It has to be violent.”

“RoboCop” is scheduled to open on August 9, 2013, although the production hasn't started yet.

Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf in first “Lawless” trailer

by Dimitris Ioannou

Who doesn't love a good, old-fashioned, gangster film, set in the Prohibition-era, full of gunshots, man-to-man fights and illegal activities?

The Weinstein Company and director of “The Road” and “The Proposition” John Hillcoat, present the first trailer of “Lawless”, based on the 2008 historical novel “The Wettest Country in the World” by Matt Bondurant.

In the promiscuous film, starring Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, Mia Wasikowska and Jessica Chastain, we follow a pair of brothers who are in charge of a bootlegging gang in the South.

The film, which premiers at Cannes Film Festival next month, is scheduled to open nationwide on August 31.
