Gary Oldman signs up for “RoboCop” remake

by Dimitris Ioannou

Hollywood loves remakes and when their followed by a big movie star, they're guaranteed success. The classic sci-fi action film “RoboCop” is the next movie to get a new modern version, and Gary Oldman has just signed to play one of the leading roles.

Oldman will play Norton, the scientist responsible for creating “RoboCop”, alongside Joel Kinnaman, known from the US version of “The Killing”, in the role of “RoboCop”.

Kinnaman recently talked about the film and said: “I sincerely hope they’re going for an R rating, because I can’t imagine how RoboCop could be PG-13. That would be a huge mistake. If I have any say in it, I will fight very hard for it. It has to be violent.”

“RoboCop” is scheduled to open on August 9, 2013, although the production hasn't started yet.

And... that's a dealbreaker, ladies!

CBS cancels “CSI: Miami”

by Dimitris Ioannou

CBS has officially canceled “CSI: Miami” and as a result the favorite show wont come back next year for an 11th season. Horatio Cane played by David Caruso and his team should pack their bags and leave the sandy beaches of Miami for good.

This is the first spin-off of the CSI franchise to get off the air, despite the strong international sales and the fresh off-network syndication deal with AMC that would've covered an 11th season.

In an official statement the network said: “CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy - a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers - led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue - and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of CSI: Miami in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.”

New “Dark Knight Rises” trailer has arrived

by Dimitris Ioannou

The third and probably the last trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises” has just arrived and it has a lot to offer. It is dark, epic and with a lot of new footage including more of Anne Hathaway in the role of Catwoman, Tom Hardy as Bane and even Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

In the 2:20 minute video we find Christian Bale's Batman into a very difficult position. Bane seems to be the toughest villain he ever had to deal with. But will he be able to stop him?

“The Dark Knight Rises” is Christopher Nolan's big finale to his Batman universe and hopefully the best one. Among the cast, we also find Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Marion Cotillard. The movie is set to hit the cinemas on July 20.
