Scarlett Johansson has been cast to
play “Psycho” star Janet Leigh in the upcoming “Hitchcock”
biopic, opposite Antony Hopkins who will portray the great director
Alfred Hitchcock.
Talking to totalfilm.com Johansson says
she is very excited about playing that role. “I’m very excited to
play her. There was never really an actor I wanted to portray or do a
bio of but I do love Janet Leigh. I’ve always loved her. She was
such a good actor and sexy. But it never got in the way of her work.”
she said and added “She was spunky and her relationship with
Hitchcock was famously one of great admiration and affection between
them.”
The movie, directed by Sacha Gervasi
and also starring Helen Mirren, Jessica Biel, Toni Collette and James
D'Arcy in the role of Anthony Perkins is scheduled to hit the
theatres in 2013.
