Universal is about to give another try
to the “Van Helsing” project after the 2004 box office big
disappointment, starring Hugh Jackman in the leading role and Kate
Beckinsale, but this time with the help of a “special agent”.
Tom Cruise is reportedly on board to
produce the film and also star in it, while the “Transformers”
screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are currently developing
the script for the upcoming reboot.
Cruise is also in talks to return to two of
his previous roles, first as agent Ethan Hunt in “Mission:
Impossible 5” and second to the role that shot him to stardom as
Maverick in “Top Gun 2”. The talented duo of the screenwriters
have also agreed to give a new breath to “The Mummy”.
